Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL), a leading shipbuilding company under the Ministry of Defence, has announced its Apprentice Recruitment for 2025. The official notification, dated January 16, 2025, invites applications for 200 apprentice positions. The recruitment includes Graduate Apprentices, Diploma Apprentices, and General Stream Graduates.

 Important Dates:

Vacancy Details:

The total number of vacancies is 200, distributed as follows:

• Graduate Apprentices: 120 positions
• Diploma Apprentices: 30 positions
• General Stream Graduate Apprentices: 50 positions

Discipline-wise Distribution:

• Graduate Apprentices:

  • Civil Engineering: 10 positions
  • Computer Engineering: 5 positions
  • Electrical Engineering: 25 positions
  • Electronics & Telecommunication: 10 positions
  • Mechanical Engineering: 60 positions
  • Shipbuilding Technology: 10 positions

• Diploma Apprentices:

  • Civil Engineering: 5 positions
  • Computer Engineering: 5 positions
  • Electrical Engineering: 10 positions
  • Mechanical Engineering: 10 positions

• General Stream Graduate Apprentices:

  • Commerce, BBA, BCA, BSW, etc.: 50 positions

Eligibility Criteria:

• Age Limit:

  • Minimum Age: 18 years
  • Maximum Age: 27 years as of March 1, 2025
  • Age relaxation is applicable as per government norms.

• Educational Qualifications:

  • Graduate Apprentices: Degree in Engineering/Technology in the relevant discipline from a recognized university.
  • Diploma Apprentices: Diploma in Engineering/Technology in the relevant discipline from a recognized institute.
  • General Stream Graduate Apprentices: Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, BBA, BCA, BSW, or equivalent from a recognized university.

Candidates who have completed their degree/diploma after April 1, 2020, are eligible to apply.

Stipend Details:

• Graduate Apprentices: ₹9,000 per month
• Diploma Apprentices: ₹8,000 per month

Selection Process:

The selection process comprises two stages:

1. Shortlisting Based on Academic Performance:

   • 80% weightage will be given to marks obtained in the qualifying examination.

2. Interview:

   • 20% weightage will be given to performance in the interview.

Candidates will be shortlisted for document verification and interview based on merit. The final selection list will be prepared after considering both stages.
