 Odisha Police Department released a detailed notification for the recruitment of 933 Sub-Inspector (SI) positions.

 This recruitment drive includes various roles:

• Sub-Inspector of Police: 609 posts
• Sub-Inspector of Police (Armed): 253 posts
• Station Officer (Fire Service): 47 posts
• Assistant Jailor: 24 posts

The online application process will commence on January 20, 2025, and conclude on February 10, 2025.

 

 Odisha Police Eligibility Criteria

1. Age Limit:

   • Candidates must be between 21 and 25 years of age as of January 1, 2024.
      Age relaxation is applicable for certain categories:
   • • SEBC/SC/ST/Women: 5 years
     • Ex-Servicemen: Total years of service rendered in armed forces

2. Educational Qualification:

   • For Sub-Inspector of Police, Sub-Inspector of Police (Armed), and Assistant Jailor: Bachelor's Degree in any discipline from a recognized university.
      For Station Officer (Fire Service): Science or Engineering Graduate from a recognized university or institution.
   •  Language Proficiency:
3. • Candidates must be able to speak, read, and write Odia.
   • Must have passed Odia as a subject in the High School Certificate examination or an equivalent exam.

 Odisha Police Selection Process

The selection process comprises the following stages:

1. Written Examination:

   • The exam will be conducted online in Computer-Based Mode.
   • It consists of two papers:
     • Paper 1: Odia and English Language (100 questions, 100 marks)
     • Paper 2: General Studies (200 questions, 200 marks)
   • There will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer.
   • Paper 1: 120 minutes will be provided to complete the paper.
   • Paper 2: 180 minutes will be provided to complete the paper.

2. Physical Standards Test (PST) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET):

   • Physical Standards:
     • For Male Candidates:
       • Height: 168 cm (General/SEBC), 163 cm (SC/ST)
       • Weight: 55 kg (General/SEBC), 50 kg (SC/ST)
       • Chest: 79 cm unexpanded, 84 cm expanded (General/SEBC); 76 cm unexpanded, 81 cm expanded (SC/ST)
     • For Female Candidates:
       • Height: 155 cm (General/SEBC), 150 cm (SC/ST)
       • Weight: 47.5 kg (General/SEBC), 45 kg (SC/ST)
   • Physical Efficiency Test:
     • For Male Candidates:
       • Running: 1.6 km in 8 minutes
       • Long Jump: 3.66 meters (3 attempts)
     • For Female Candidates:
       • Running: 1.6 km in 10 minutes
       • Long Jump: 2.77 meters (3 attempts)

3. Medical Examination:

   • Candidates must be of sound health and free from any organic defect or body infirmity.

4. Document Verification:

   • Verification of all original documents and certificates.
