
Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) released the official notification for the Group D recruitment, aiming to fill 32,438 vacancies across various positions.
Vacancy Details:
The total number of vacancies announced is 32,438, distributed among various posts as follows:
- Pointsman-B: 5,058 posts
- Assistant (Track Machine): 799 posts
- Assistant (Bridge): 301 posts
- Track Maintainer Gr. IV Engineering: 13,187 posts
- Assistant P-Way: 257 posts
- Assistant (C&W): 2,587 posts
- Assistant TRD Electrical: 1,381 posts
- Assistant (S&T) S&T: 2,012 posts
- Assistant Loco Shed (Diesel): 420 posts
- Assistant Loco Shed (Electrical): 950 posts
- Assistant Operations (Electrical): 744 posts
- Assistant TL & AC: 1,041 posts
- Assistant TL & AC (Workshop): 624 posts
- Assistant (Workshop) (Mech): 3,077 posts
To apply for these positions, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Educational Qualification: Candidates should have completed Class 10th (Matriculation) or possess an equivalent qualification from a recognized board. Additionally, holding a National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) from NCVT is required for certain posts.
- Age Limit: Applicants must be between 18 and 36 years of age as of July 1, 2025. Age relaxation is applicable for reserved categories as per RRB norms.
The online application process will commence on January 23, 2025, and will remain open until February 22, 2025.
Application Fees:
The application fee details are as follows:
- General/OBC Candidates: ₹500 (Out of this, ₹400 will be refunded after appearing in the CBT)
- SC/ST/PWD/Women/Ex-Servicemen/Transgender/Minorities/Economically Backward Classes: ₹250 (This fee will be refunded after appearing in the CBT)
The selection process comprises the following stages:
- Computer-Based Test (CBT): This test will assess candidates on subjects like Mathematics, General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Science, and General Awareness and Current Affairs.
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Candidates who qualify in the CBT will undergo a physical test to ensure they meet the required fitness standards.
- Document Verification and Medical Examination: Successful candidates from the PET will be called for document verification and a medical examination to confirm their eligibility.
The CBT will consist of 100 questions to be answered in 90 minutes. The distribution of questions is as follows:
- Mathematics: 25 questions
- General Intelligence and Reasoning: 30 questions
- General Science: 25 questions
- General Awareness and Current Affairs: 20 questions
Each correct answer will earn one mark, and there will be a negative marking of ⅓ mark for each incorrect answer.
