Rajasthan High Court announced a recruitment drive for Stenographer Grade-II and Grade-III positions. This initiative aims to fill 144 vacancies across District Courts and District Legal Services Authorities (DLSAs) in Rajasthan.

 

Vacancy Details:

The distribution of the 144 stenographer positions is as follows:

  • Stenographer Grade-III (Hindi):

    • General: 55
    • EWS: 3
    • SC: 13
    • ST: 15
    • OBC: 16
    • MBC: 1
  • Stenographer Grade-III (Hindi) [TSP Area]:

    • General: 4
    • ST: 5
  • Stenographer Grade-III (English):

    • General: 8
  • Stenographer Grade-III (English) [TSP Area]:

    • General: 3
  • Stenographer Grade-II (Hindi):

    • General: 8
  • Stenographer Grade-II (Hindi) [TSP Area]:

    • General: 4

Eligibility Criteria:

  1. Educational Qualifications:

    • Candidates must have completed the Senior Secondary Examination in Arts, Science, or Commerce from the Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education or an equivalent recognized by the government.
    • Proficiency in Hindi written in Devanagari script and knowledge of Rajasthani dialects are essential.
    • Additionally, candidates should possess one of the following computer qualifications:
      • "O" or Higher Level Certificate Course by DOEACC.
      • Computer Operator & Programming Assistant (COPA)/Data Preparation & Computer Software (DPCS) certificate.
      • Diploma in Computer Science/Computer Application.
      • Diploma in Computer Science & Engineering from a recognized polytechnic institution.
      • Rajasthan State Certificate Course in Information Technology (RSCIT).
      • Senior Secondary School Examination with Computer Science as an optional subject.
  2. Age Limit:

    • Applicants should be between 18 and 40 years of age as of January 1, 2026.
    • Age relaxations are applicable as per government norms:
      • SC/ST/OBC/MBC/EWS: 5 years
      • Women candidates: 5 years
      • Reservists (Defence Services Personnel): Upper age limit of 50 years
      • Ex-Servicemen: 15 years
      • Persons with Benchmark Disabilities: 5 years

Application Fee:

  • General/OBC (Creamy Layer)/MBC (Creamy Layer)/Other State Applicants: ₹750
  • OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)/MBC (Non-Creamy Layer)/EWS: ₹600
  • SC/ST/PwBD: ₹450

Fees can be paid online through the designated payment gateway.

Selection Process:

The selection process comprises:

  1. Shorthand Test:

    • Dictation:
      • English: 80 words per minute (wpm)
      • Hindi: 70 wpm
    • Transcription and typing of the dictated passage on a computer:
      • Duration: 50 minutes
  2. Computer Test:

    • Speed Test:
      • Duration: 10 minutes
      • Marks: 50
    • Efficiency Test:
      • Duration: 10 minutes
      • Marks: 50
  3. Interview:

    • Candidates who qualify in the shorthand and computer tests will be called for an interview.
  4. Document Verification and Medical Examination:

    • Final selection is subject to verification of documents and a medical examination.
