Indian Navy SSC Officer Recruitment 2025

 Indian Navy announced the Short Service Commission (SSC) Officer Recruitment for the June 2025 batch. This recruitment drive aims to fill 250 vacancies across various branches, including Executive, Education, and Technical. Both unmarried men and women who meet the eligibility criteria can apply. The application window is open from September 14 to September 29, 2024.

 SSC Vacancy Details

The 250 vacancies are distributed among different branches and cadres. The exact distribution is as follows:

  • Executive Branch:

    • General Service (GS(X))
    • Air Traffic Controller (ATC)

    • Logistics
  • Technical Branch:

    • Engineering Branch
    • Electrical Branch
  • Education Branch

Each branch has specific roles and responsibilities. For instance, the General Service officers handle the ship's operations, while Pilots are responsible for flying aircraft. Logistics officers manage material and supply chains. The Technical Branch focuses on the ship's engineering and electrical systems, and the Education Branch is involved in training and educational activities within the Navy.

SSC  Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for these positions, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • SSC Nationality: Must be an Indian citizen.

  • SSC Marital Status: Only unmarried candidates are eligible.

  • SSC  Educational Qualifications:

    • General Service (GS(X)): BE/B.Tech in any discipline with a minimum of 60% marks.
    • Air Traffic Controller (ATC): BE/B.Tech in any discipline with a minimum of 60% marks. Additionally, candidates must have 60% aggregate marks in Class X and XII and at least 60% marks in English in Class X or XII.
    • Pilot: BE/B.Tech in any discipline with a minimum of 60% marks. Candidates should also have 60% aggregate marks in Class X and XII and at least 60% marks in English in Class X or XII.
    • Logistics: First-class in B.Sc/B.Com/B.Sc.(IT) with a Post Graduate Diploma in Finance/Logistics/Supply Chain Management/Material Management, or an MBA with first-class, or a BE/B.Tech in any discipline with a first-class.
    • Engineering Branch: BE/B.Tech with a minimum of 60% marks in Mechanical, Marine, Instrumentation, Production, Aeronautical, Industrial Engineering & Management, Control Engineering, or equivalent disciplines.
    • Electrical Branch: BE/B.Tech with a minimum of 60% marks in Electrical, Electronics, Telecommunication, Electronics & Communication, Power Engineering, Control System Engineering, or equivalent disciplines.
    • Education Branch: M.Sc with First Class in Physics/Maths/Chemistry or MA with First Class in English/History or BE/B.Tech with a minimum of 60% marks.
  • SSC  Age Limit: The age criteria vary for different branches. For most branches, candidates should be born between July 2, 2000, and January 1, 2006. However, specific branches may have different age requirements.

SSC  Selection Process

The selection process involves several stages:

  1. Shortlisting of Applications: Candidates are shortlisted based on normalized marks obtained in the qualifying degree. For BE/B.Tech candidates, marks up to the fifth semester are considered. For postgraduate candidates, marks of all semesters are taken into account.

  2. SSB Interview: Shortlisted candidates are called for the Services Selection Board (SSB) interview. This interview assesses the candidate's suitability for a career in the Navy.

  3. Medical Examination: Candidates who clear the SSB interview undergo a medical examination to ensure they meet the medical standards required for service.

  4. Merit List: A final merit list is prepared based on the candidate's performance in the SSB interview and medical examination. Selected candidates are then informed about their selection.

SSC  Training

Selected candidates will undergo training at the Indian Naval Academy (INA) in Ezhimala, Kerala, commencing in June 2025. The training duration varies depending on the branch and specialization. During this period, candidates receive comprehensive training to prepare them for their roles as officers in the Indian Navy.

SSC  Additional Information

  • Probation Period: Officers are on probation for two years from the date of grant of the rank of Sub-Lieutenant or the date of reporting to the Indian Naval Academy, whichever is later. During this period, if their performance is unsatisfactory, they are liable to be discharged.
