Sports Department of Chandigarh recruitment of Junior Coaches

 Sports Department of Chandigarh Administration announced the recruitment of Junior Coaches for various sports disciplines. Eligibility Criteria:

• Educational Qualification:
  • A graduate degree from a recognized university or institution.
  • A one-year Diploma in Coaching from the National Institute of Sports (NIS) or any recognized university.
• Age Limit (as of January 1, 2025):
  • Minimum Age: 21 years
  • Maximum Age: 37 years
  • Age relaxation is applicable as per government norms for reserved categories.

Pay Scale:

The selected candidates will be placed in the pay band of ₹9,300 – ₹34,800 with a Grade Pay of ₹4,200. As per the 7th Central Pay Commission, this corresponds to Pay Level-6 with an initial pay of ₹35,400 per month.

• SC Candidates: ₹500
• Persons with Disabilities (PWD): Exempted from fee

Selection Process:

1. Written Examination:
   • The exam will be of 75 marks with a duration of 2 hours.
   • A minimum of 38 marks is required to qualify.
2. Evaluation of Sports Achievements:
   • Up to 20 marks will be awarded based on the candidate's highest sports achievements.
3. Coaching Experience:
   • Up to 5 marks will be allotted for coaching experience in the relevant discipline (1 mark per year, with a maximum of 5 marks).
4. Document Verification:
   • Shortlisted candidates will undergo verification of original documents.
5. Medical Examination:
   • A medical fitness test will be conducted for the final selection.
